Yemen support Foundation for Relief and Reconstruction concludes the “protect my family: Enhancing food security and livelihoods for conflict-affected communities in Amran Governorate in coordination with SCMCHA Under the Yemen is Able! Project, implemented by Responsiveness for Relief and Development ( RRD) and funded by the European Union in partnership with ZOA International. The project benefited thirty women heads of the most vulnerable families of the displaced, orphans, widows, people with disabilities, chronic diseases and the elderly, as they were trained in technical and vocational skills in (the fields of sewing, embroidery, project management and marketing) and gave them integrated economic empowerment bags. At the conclusion in the presence of the Director General of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs branch in the governorate (SCMCHA ) , Himyar Al-Saar, the Director General of the Social Affairs Office, Ibrahim Al-Dherhani, pointed out the importance of the course, which will make the participants productive women and able to overcome the difficulties of life and the economic situation. He added that we are proud of this group of women heads of families who persevered and were keen to qualify themselves to obtain work in the field of economic empowerment to alleviate the difficult economic suffering of their families. For his part, the head of the Yemen support Foundation for Relief and Reconstruction, Mohammad Al-Qatta'a, explained that during the project, which lasted 36 days within the “Economic Empowerment and Livelihood Improvement Program,” the beneficiaries received lessons and skills in the field of sewing, starting from the information and idea until completion and the production of various pieces and clothing for children and women in particular. He added that the project supported the beneficiaries with economic empowerment bags complete with sewing machines and supplies to enable them to produce and own private projects to directly improve their income and livelihood. We appreciate the efforts of the funding and supporting bodies, represented by the Responsiveness for Relief and Development, for such projects, which have a sustainable impact and a role in raising the standard of living of the family, achieving sustainable development and transforming society from a consumer to a producer.
