I am Halima, I am 35 years old, a widow and I have 8 children, where I am uneducated and did not attend school, displaced from Saada Governorate to Amran Governorate because of the war, my children have no breadwinner except me after the death of their father, as I face difficulties in providing a living for me and my children and I do not have any skills or experience to work under difficult circumstances due to the continuation of the war and high prices. The situation was very difficult and we did not find in most cases what supported us and provided us with food and medicine and most of the time help from neighbors or philanthropists, and we did not have a stable source of income to support myself and my family I tried hard to learn any skill and gain any experience to be a stable source of income for me and my family I got an opportunity for training from Yemen support Foundation for Relief and Reconstruction With the project "protect my family" Enhancing food security and livelihoods for conflict-affected communities in Amran Governorate , Under the Yemen is Able! Project, implemented by Responsiveness for Relief and Development ( RRD) and funded by the European Union in partnership with ZOA International. I had a feeling of fear of not being able to learn sewing and embroidery and how to market because I was illiterate and uneducated and my inability to continue training to the end, I started training and saw the continuous encouragement from the project leadership and the cooperation of the trainer and her patience gave me motivation and helped me to continue training and learn the skills of sewing and embroidery and taking measurements and making different cuts and the basics of embroidery and I became able to sew clothes for children and women well and know the types of fabrics and their prices and how to make records to calculate capital and profit and how I can manage my project Simple and work on marketing it correctly. The project provided me with the following: - The opportunity for education and training in the field of tailoring, embroidery, project management, marketing, and acquiring technical and marketing skills The economic empowerment bag consists of a sewing machine, its supplies, tools, accessories, and various sewing fabrics. The project helped me gain confidence in myself, the ability to own my own small business, and the ability to support and care for my family through the work I do in sewing and marketing children’s and women’s models Praise be to God, the latest big difference in my life became able to go out to the labor market and sewing to provide a source of income to support my family to provide the necessary and basic needs for me and my children and in a way that preserves my dignity without the need for anyone's help and I thank everyone who contributed to supporting us from training and rehabilitation and providing a sewing machine, sewing tools and fabrics for me and worked to change my life and the life of my family for the better, I tell them to continue with such projects, as they have an impact on society, especially women who support their families, and instead of being dependent on society, they have now become productive and active in society.
